I was born and raised in the Midwest. I have drawn and taken photographs since I was in high school. I spent my twenties in darkrooms in Chicago and San Francisco creating black and white images of my friends and the surrounding urban landscapes. I was inspired early on by music, fashion, and the creative community I was involved in.  After an extended trip to Central and South America, I moved to rural Wisconsin and taught myself to paint. I spent time painting in New Orleans, and eventually moved out west to Wyoming, where the landscape overwhelmed and inspired all of my work. I currently live in Louisville, Kentucky.  Art is a challenge and a refuge for me, and a constant companion in the always-changing experience of life.
